QUEENSCLIFF
Massive windows framing the view of the heads, reach out to the water. The conflicting requirements of view, site, orientation, privacy and planning come together in a form suggestive of attic houses but now cut and wrapped.
The internal circulation core acts as a light well and a thermal chimney exhausting hot air.
The lower level of rough rendered block supports a metal clad roof that folds down as the walls. Side windows punch out to capture glimpses of the bay.
The folding of the roof form is a conscious aim to reduce the mass of the building and gives privacy to neighbours.
